Utility Aid announces proposed partnership
with Multi Award winning charity McSence

Edinburgh based, multi award winning charity, McSence is in discussions with a view of becoming a key partner in the Charity Utility Initiative. The CUI which aims to help Charities, NFP’s and Businesses better manage utility consumption and expenditure, is strongly focused on helping disabled and disadvantaged people into employment.
Business Development Manager at Utility Aid, Matthew Bell said “By partnering with McSence we will able to draw on their considerable experience and resource to fulfil our goal of employing disabled and disadvantaged individuals as part of the scheme. McSence could also help us deliver a long term nationally recognised qualification in Utility Efficiency Management thus ensuring the utilities industry has a fresh stream of talent into the future.”
Chief executive of McSence Brian Tannerhill added, “Our state of the art training & call centre facility which is due for completion in January of next year, is ideally suited to help the Charity Utility Initiative deliver on its commitment of helping increase employment in the disabled and disadvantaged community. At McSence, we are constantly evaluating ethical and community based projects that we would like to be involved with, and we are excited about the potential prospect of being such an important part of the Charity Utility Initiative.”
CUI road shows announced for early 2007

Utility Aid announced a comprehensive CUI events schedule to start in Jan 2007 with the first event in Leeds. Aimed at maximising the CUI message and featuring speakers from the energy and metering industries. The events are free and open to all charities and businesses. Further events will be held throughout 2007 in Edinburgh, Manchester, London and Birmingham

Utility Aid unveils plan for formation of the Yorkshire Family Trust

Utility Aid has announced the intention to form a new charity in 2007. The charity, to be called the Yorkshire Family Trust, will specifically help low income families in the region with financial assistance who have experienced a traumatic family incident. The charity will receive 25% of all Utility Aid pre tax profits and Utility Aid has agreed to cover all operating and administrative costs of the new charity meaning every pound the charity raises will go directly to helping families in the region.
Utility Aid MD James Morgon said. “Whilst we have a number of partnerships with leading national charities we felt inspired to provide support to the local community specifically families that have undergone a tragedy and desperately need financial assistance. Having worked with many world class charities over the last few years we are confident of being able to draw upon the help and advice of experienced charity professionals to develop our own world class charity based here in Leeds.”

Office Aid ltd will provide Charities, Not for Profit’s and SME’s a full service stationary, print and design service. Making Space to install SmartMETER’s with Utility Aid

Leading North West charity Making Space have joined the Charity Utility Initiative and requested the installation of SmartMETERs into all premises. Being able to continually monitor each location’s consumption will enable the charity to move towards a significant reduction in usage, helping with budgets but also helping to develop a ethical energy policy going forward.
Sense to install SmartMETER’s with Utility Aid

Sense UK have seen the benefit of the CUI and taken the decision to fit smart meters into all properties. The partnership with the CUI will see the charity making positive steps to reducing its utilities expenditure and carbon footprint by the installation of SmartMETERs. The charity will install smart meters on gas and electricity ensuring their full consumption is monitored and controlled in the most prudent way.
New gas contract for Abbeyfield Furness

Abbeyfield have worked with Utility Aid to negotiate a competitive gas contract for its Staveley site. The site will benefit from a competitive price for all gas usage.
Sense Retail to install SmartMETER’s with Utility Aid

Sense Retail has seized the opportunity to install smartMETERs into all retail premises by joining the Charity Utility Initiative. The agreement will see the new technology installed in all Sense Retail shop’s, and through the Utility Efficiency Management program included in the scheme will help the charity reduce its utility expenditure and carbon footprint.

Utility Aid opens new office in Leeds

Utility Aid has re-located its head office to Leeds. The move sees Utility Aid once again working with charity with the re-development of the Offices at the 100 year old Oulton Institute. Utility Aid have agreed a 3 years lease on the offices and immediately committed to upgrade the office space at their own expense.
Charity Utility Initiative gets off the ground

Utility Aid have launched the Charity Utility Initiative (CUI) a project designed to help charities, not for profits and ethical businesses control and reduce utility expenditure. The scheme is designed to help clients reduce utility usage, increase billing efficiency and release human resource. The scheme encompasses the core areas of Utility Aids business and sees the installation of the latest technology to help control expenditure; this technology is installed as a cost negative exercise meaning CUI clients are leading the way in energy efficiency.

Utility Aid has signed a formal agreement with Community Ethical Trading Limited (CETL) to distribute smartMETERs and smartMETERing services to its clients. The partnership will enable Charities, Not for Profits and SME’s finally draw a line under the historical inefficiencies in the reading and billing of utility meters.
